Jade Pleming Yoga Reterat | September 2023

04.09.23 - 08.09.23

With Jade & Tamara.

Playtime and learning have never looked so good together as they do on Greek islands in the summer. Join Jade & Tamara as they head over to Skiathos and Skopelos – the infamous Mama Mia islands – for a few days of wild summer fun. There will be beach time, there will be fine food & wine, there will be late nights and silly memory-making. Then, we’ll move back to the mainland to Pelion Homes, our sanctuary near the coast, for a 4 day immersive yoga learning experience. Open your mind to new sequencing techniques, new viewpoints on posture work, new ideas around implementing philosophy into your practice, and much, much more.

The Location

Pelion is a mountain in the southeastern part of Thessaly in central Greece, forming a hook-like peninsula between the Pagasetic Gulf and the Aegean Sea. Pelion Mountain is situated on the East coast of mainland Greece north of Athens and south of Thessaloniki. You will be spending your week situated on the side of Mount Pelion with views out towards the gulf and stunning sunrises.

Join Adventure Yogi for this wonderful Summer retreat at the Pelion Homes Retreat Centre.

So I’ve been teaching for 7 years now.  I still have days where I feel like I’m faking it and I don’t know anything and I’ll never be a “good yogi” but that’s just something bigger reminding me that I’m a human. We all have that.  I’m sure even some of the best people in their fields have days where they feel like a fraud. I still have this profound need to be interesting, and I’m not a vegetarian (which some might say is a requirement to being a “yogi”, but I am much less of an asshole than I used to be, and I have yoga to thank for that.

I don’t have all the answers to life’s many questions, but I do believe in the power of yoga. After all, it’s been around a lot longer than any of us have.

First and foremost, yoga has to be something that people can relate to. There’s a lot to learn, and there’s not enough time in one’s life to learn it all. However, any and all of the yogic history and philosophy can be applied to any kind of modern life if it’s absorbed correctly by the student. So my first priority as a teacher is to identify why the student is here. What brought you this?

I love working with students who want to get to know themselves on a deeper level. This relationship you have with yourself can unleash some pretty wicked creative bursts and a lot of love that seems incomprehensible in the current state. I also believe in the power of movement. Pure and simple, just moving your body a little bit every single day is a surefire way to keep healthy, mentally and physically. But the ego is a powerful thing and can really interfere with the progress you think you need to make. We cover all of that and more in my teachings.

Yogic philosophy is an entire journey of it’s own, so rather than just getting together and stretching and making shapes with our bodies, I also incorporate a lot of philosophical metaphors into the postures, so that you start to understand how all of this stuff is connected. Whether you’re going through a period of intense stress, creative blocks, or just want to move into a space of being more present with yourself, those around you and the world – I’d love to be your teacher.
