“The reality through your lens”

Capture the city of Athens and the magic Mount Pelion!

Pelion Homes invites you to a unique photo shooting journey

with Tassos Venetsanopoulos

19/9/2017 to 25/9/2017

If you’re a nature and photography lover who is looking for a unique travel experience, we have the ideal trip for you. This incredible workshop enables you to combine your holiday with a wide variety of activities and excursions. Our photography workshop held by Tassos Venetsanopoulos gives you the opportunity to explore the local culture, learn something new, and share experiences with others, all while unwinding in the comfort of the high-quality Pelion Homes villas in Agios Georgios Nilias.

Where better to improve your photography skills than in the Pelion region, which has the unique ability to connect people, bring them closer, and create unforgettable memories. Our goal for this workshop is to offer an enriching, fulfilling, and bonding experience, where participants have the chance to capture all the spontaneous and beautiful moments of their holiday!

What is the seminar about

“The reality through your lens” is a 7-day workshop that gives you the opportunity to capture your memories. Expert Tassos Venetsanopoulos will guide and inspire you to observe your surrounding environment and find meaning in every detail that is worth taking a picture of.

The main focus is on capturing images that attract you, less on the technical aspects of photography. Tassos demonstrates the importance of what “seeing” really is, while you develop the ability to recognise the right moment to take a picture. His emphasis is on explaining what makes a good photo and how to improve your technique.

Today, digital cameras have many features that make taking pictures so much easier, so you can use any camera you have in this workshop. A DSLR, a pocket camera, or a smartphone. Always keep in mind that the best camera is the one you are holding!

As well as guided sessions, there is plenty of free time for photo shooting. The best photographs are taken during the most random and spontaneous moments, so you’ll have lots of opportunities such as leisure time, eating, or just strolling and observing. The schedule alternates between day field trips to explore nature and different historical spots of the region to meeting locals, and debating about the photographs you have taken as a group. During our trips around Pelion, you’ll get the opportunity to explore the places on your own and decide what you wish to capture.

At the end, there will be a presentation where everyone can participate by watching, commenting on, and discussing each photo. By the end of the workshop, you will witness the progress that you have made in improving your technical and artistic skills. Beginners as well as more experienced photographers are welcome to join us.

A little about your accommodation in Pelion Homes

Less than four hours from Athens and just two and a half hours from Thessaloniki, Pelion Homes villas are located in the village of Agios Georgios Nilias. This village is the ideal place to escape the city crowds and recharge your batteries. 620 meters above sea level, Agios Georgiοs is known as the “balcony of Pelion”, thanks to its spectacular views of the Pagasitikos Sea, and dense mountain vegetation.Forest flora and fauna surround the village, from oaks to chestnut trees, apples to berries, oregano and thyme.

This setting, with its incomparable colors and peaceful silence, is the reason we founded Pelion Homes here four years ago. Since then, it has become a fond winter and summer favourite for both Greek and international travelers. Those who visit Pelion experience the unseen side of Greece. Pelion Homes combine mountain and sea, as well as high-quality tourism services.

Pelion Homes consists of five independent, newly-built traditional-style houses, with breathtaking views of the sea. Each house can accommodate 4-8 people, in shared accommodation (max. 2 people per room). Pelion Homes were designed to create a homely environment, with even the smallest details considered. All villas have shared bathroom facilities with two or more bathrooms.

There is a fully equipped kitchen for guests to prepare any additional meals and snacks that are not included in the retreat. We provide organic fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, bread, and fresh eggs every day, along with breakfast ingredients (handmade granola, local honey, and more). Please note that all meals (except when visiting a restaurant) are provided but are not served.

Choosing to stay in one of our villas will make you truly feel like home, but with exquisite, unforgettable panorama views. We are welcoming single travelers, couples and families who wish to meet other interesting people and share this unique experience.
